Tips for a Perfect Game Session

Our game is designed to connect players seamlessly over a local network. However, the wireless world can be tricky! To ensure the most stable and fun experience, run through this quick checklist on both devices before you start playing.

Before You Play: Device Checklist

  • Check Your Battery

Make sure your device has a good charge. Low battery modes can slow down Wi-Fi performance.

  • Disable Focus Modes

Modes like "Do Not Disturb" or "Sleep" can interfere with the app's connection. Turn them off while you play.

  • Check Airplane Mode

Ensure it's off. If you must use it, manually re-enable Wi-Fi after turning Airplane Mode on.

Choose the Right Network

  • Best Choice: Private Home Wi-Fi

Your trusted home network is usually the best option for a smooth game.

  • Most Reliable: Mobile Hotspot

For a guaranteed stable connection, have one player turn on their "Personal Hotspot" and have the other connect to it.

  • Avoid: Public & Guest Wi-Fi

Networks at cafes, hotels, and airports often have high-security settings that prevent devices from talking to each other.

During the Game

Stay in the App

The connection is most stable when the game is open and active on the screen. Switching to other apps or locking your device can sometimes cause the operating system to pause the connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

One of the best features of our game is that you don't need an internet connection to play! The magic is in using one player's phone to create a private, local Wi-Fi network that the other player can join. Here’s how:

  1. Choose a "Host" Phone: Decide which player's phone will create the network.
  2. Turn on the Mobile Hotspot: On the Host phone, go to Settings and enable "Personal Hotspot" (iOS) or "Mobile Hotspot" (Android).
  3. Connect the "Guest" Phone: On the other phone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the Host phone's network.
  4. Launch the Game and Play! The player with the hotspot should host the game, and the other will now be able to find and join it.

Special Tip for Playing on an Airplane:

You can still play even with Airplane Mode enabled! On both devices, turn on Airplane Mode, then manually re-enable Wi-Fi. Follow the hotspot steps above to connect and play.

Connection issues can be frustrating, but they are almost always solvable with a few quick steps. Try these solutions in order:

  1. Check Your Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure both devices are on the same private network and have a strong signal. Avoid public/guest Wi-Fi as their security often blocks the connection.
  2. Restart the App on Both Devices: The "turn-it-off-and-on-again" trick! Force close the game completely from the recent apps screen on both phones and then relaunch it. This fixes most issues.
  3. Use the Mobile Hotspot Method: This is the most reliable way to play. Have one phone create a hotspot and the other connect to it. This creates a direct, stable link between the two devices.
  4. Keep the App in the Foreground: The connection is most stable when the game is open and active. Switching apps or locking your screen can cause the connection to pause.
